Two scientists of the WIC scientific advisory group participate in a symposium about nutritional aspects of moderate wine consumption

Prof. Nicolai Worm (Nutritionist) and Prof. Mladen Boban (Physician) – both actively participating in the Wine Information Council group of experts – came to speak at a symposium about Nutritional Aspects of moderate wine consumption organised during the conference “Ernährung 2014” or Nutrition 2014 which was held in Ludwigsburg on 26 June 2014. More than 100 nutritionists as well as physicians specialising in nutrition attended the symposium where Prof. Worm (Munich) explained the latest scientific evidence on moderate wine consumption and cardiovascular risk and , Prof. Mladen Boban (University of Split Medical School, Croatia) illustrated how wine can be protective against postprandial oxidative stress when consumed as an integral part of the meal, and that drinking with meals represents an important aspect of recommended wine drinking patterns. The big interest of the participants in the topic was reflected in the lively discussion and numerous questions at the end of the congress.
